Can I send Making Tax Digital updates on HMRC's website?

Short answer
No. HMRC does not provide software for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax. You need compatible software to keep your records, send quarterly updates and submit your tax return. If you keep records in a spreadsheet, you can carry on, but you need bridging software to send them.
Your options
One all-in-one product that keeps your records, sends your updates and submits your tax return.
Or more than one product: for example, your spreadsheet for records plus bridging software that links to it to send updates and your return. Different products can handle separate submissions, but each individual submission must use one product; the product sending your tax return must cover the whole return.
Whatever you choose has to cover all your income sources, including anything else you report on your tax return. See bridging software for spreadsheets or products that also submit your tax return.
